Are you Lucky? I have a daughter that has always been lucky! She wins things in large groups all the time. When she was in grade school there was a big assembly and they were giving away a grand prize for the school kids for a reading program they had all participated in. She won the stuffed pig. She was thrilled. Then when she was in High School there was a program where kids were caught doing something nice for other people and they were given a chance to win a car from the local dealership. Can you believe that she won a Yellow VW Bug? As I sat in the audience watching every kid try to unlock the box with their key I just kept thinking…. this can’t be true…. Rachael is really going to win this car. She was the last one to try her key and it was the winning key!!!! She did it! She is so dang lucky!!!!
This morning I was reading an Instagram post by a networker I follow. Her name is Emily and she made me think about how loosely we use the term LUCKY! Emily has been very successful in her network marketing company at a very young age. She said she was reminded of a quote today, “You cannot have a million dollar dream with a minimum wage work ethic.”
Emily went on to say, “Someone called me “lucky” today…. I just laughed… I am not lucky. You know what I am? I am smart, I am talented, I take advantage of the opportunities that come my way and I work REALLY, REALLY hard serving OTHERS and helping them get what THEY want…. Don’t you ever call me LUCKY again…. and make sure you check back again in another 5 years…. I bet I’ll get even more lucky….
I have another person I follow on Instagram, my friend and neighbor Scott. He happens to go to my same church and we go to the same gym. His posts are so inspiring that I make sure to read them everyday. Today he posted a quote: When you can’t control what’s happening, challenge yourself to control the way you respond to what’s happening. That is where your power is.
Scott goes on to ask us a question. Why should your later self be more disciplined than your present self? He says, “By you allowing yourself to slack off now, you’re building a habit of procrastination and actually making it less likely that your later self will be more disciplined. So today, stop making excuses for why you can’t get it done and start focusing on all the reasons why you must make it happen.
Lets go make things happen today! Lets wake up and 5-4-3-2-1 blast off as Mel Robbins teaches us. Today is the day to make a difference in your life and stop thinking your fairy Godmother is going to show up and grant all your dreams to come true. I was out in the garage with my husband cleaning up some things and we were talking about getting stuff done. I said, “Ray, we have got to take responsibility for all this junk and know that our fairy Godmother is not going to show up and twinkle all this stuff away.” We have got to step up and take care of our stuff! It is important to clear the clutter in our lives and be so grateful for what we have. This is an abundance mindset to clear out the clutter and give thanks to God for all he has bestowed upon us and donate, throw away, organize and clean out our stuff!!! I cannot believe the freedom it gives you when you go through this process. Try it and stop procrastinating.
You are Lucky! You are lucky to have all that you have and are extremely blessed to be part of a community that cares about your success! When you see “Lucky” look a little deeper to see where that Luck came from.
Who will you serve today and make their life better?
