Stop It! Says Killer Kate!
I was at the gym this morning and my personal trainer, Killer Kate, told me to do some tricep dips. So I get in the position with my legs up on a bench and my arms on another bench that is parallel to each other. I start to do the dips and she comes up with a 25lb plate and goes to set it on my legs. I was in total resistance. NO WAY can I do that!!! Killer Kate said, “Don’t mess with me today! I’m not in the mood! You always see things bigger than they are and think you can’t do it! Stop it!!”
Killer Kate put the 25 lb plate on my legs and said go! I started to dip and barely got five dips done. The next set… after she scolded me… I powered out 10 dips with great strength. Killer Kate says, “See how you think things are harder than they really are?”
This was a great eye opening experience! I told her that I often treat my everyday life like that. I start to get discouraged before I am fully in the court, on the floor, or out networking. I sabotage myself before I even begin to be successful.
Today I choose to Stop It!
I have been listening to Mel Robbins book The 5 Second Rule! This is counting down 5 – 4 – 3 – 2 – 1 blast off!!! It is the best book ever besides the Bible and Book of Mormon. NO REALLY!!! That is where I rank this book. I said, I’m not going to bed till I write my blog. I said 54321 go and here I am. I am hungry and my kids are in the kitchen making food. I wanted to get up and go hang out with them, but I said 54321 stick to your plan. I am finishing two posts and it is incredible the power I feel I have over me and running my million dollar businesses. This is the greatest feeling ever!!! The real irony of all this is you actually take the feeling out of your 54321 moments and just go to work. You have got to listen to this book on audible. That is how me and my family get through so many books.
