Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday! Wow!! We have so much to look at and research. There are so many deals going on and people offering services at phenomenal discounts. I love it all!!! It is the creative genius of the not so average person. This is exciting times and we are engaging with people from all over the world. I am impressed with the tips and steps to healthy success in peoples lives.
I have been watching training’s in my profession each day. I have written in my gratitude journal, I have played with my family, eaten turkey & stuffing, gone to the movies (“Wonder” is the best movie) and eaten more pie!!! I love this time of year with all the family activities and shopping experiences.
I realize there are lonely people out there this time of year. I know people have a certain amount of energy to just get out of bed. I am talking to you! I read a post by someone this morning that said they always spend the holidays alone and it is depressing for them. They joined a Facebook group just to have virtual company. This person decided to get up and make some fun turkey cookies and deliver to her neighbors to let them know how grateful she was for them. This really got her out of her self-pity-party! I was so impressed with the lesson she taught everyone by being vulnerable sharing her loneliness and how she solved her problem.
This lesson reminds me of the humanitarian group I belong to. I am part of the choice humanitarian ending poverty group. I have gone to Mexico and Ecuador with this group. We go into communities with goals to improve their communities. They have been preparing for us to come for over a year. When we arrive with our team they have specific task they want us to help with. In Mexico we built water cisterns, outdoor ovens & stoves and chicken coops. This was so productive because we worked side by side with each family. They taught us how to mix cement with our shovels and feet. WE did everything their way!!! Then when we left after a week of work they still kept improving their community because they knew how and had the resources to keep going. In Ecuador we started a vocational school. Our job was to build the wall along the perimeter of the land. This was hard work carrying rocks, cement and bricks up a hill. We worked side by side with the people of this community. They have people stop by and work on the project everyday so they can be part of this great advancement for the people of this village. This is a three year project where their government and community keep giving of their resources and we keep doing fundraisers to speed up the process. I was on a training with Ray Higdon this morning in his Rank Makers group and he spoke of giving value to people. He asked the question of how many single moms do you know? How many of you have helped a single mom out by buying them something or paying for something for them? This is a wonderful act of kindness. What if we take it one step further and teach them how to grow a home based business so they can still be home taking care of their families, making an income and growing a business? It is the same thing we are doing with our humanitarian group. WE are teaching people how to be self reliant. I find joy in this!!! We can all make a difference one person at a time or thousands at a time!!! Ray Higdon talked about the small financial donation that opens up our greatness and speaks to the world that we are ready for bigger things in our lives.
One more step you can do today is write a list of 100 things you are grateful for. When you acknowledge the things you are grateful for you make space for more in your life. If you are constantly focusing on what you don’t have then the universe says… Oh wow! She isn’t even grateful for what she already has… there is no room to give her more!!!
For Momentum to occur in your life you need to show up everyday!!! Keep showing up!!! It really does make a difference!!!!
Action #1 make a donation to your favorite group or our favorite group.
Action #2 write 100 things you are grateful for.
With all my love, LoriAnn
